Welcome to our website, we are Darren and Julie Summers and we have been breeding working gundogs for nearly fifteen years.  We have had various gundog breeds over the years, but now specialise in the working bred variety of cocker spaniel.

We are based in the wonderful countryside of County Durham in a village called Sunnybrow. We are extremely lucky to be within five minutes walk of the River Wear and have country views everywhere we look. Game is in abundance due to our wonderful location with plenty of professionally organised shoots in our area.

Here at Summervilles we believe in responsible breeding,  all our breeding stock are health tested and are sound proven working dogs.  We breed, work and train our own dogs. They have the best of temperaments and superior hunting abilities.

 Our dog’s heritage stems from some of the best trialling dogs in Great Britain today. We are proud to have produced some outstanding quality pups & trained gundogs.   

Our own breeding lines are consistantly proving to produce excellent quality, true to breed type, with steadiness and trainability.  They have also proved capable of adapting to active family life, and two of our previous bred pups are now working as assistance dogs.
